Mass Effect 2 "another instance of the game is already running" bug?

Using RadeonPro 1.1.1.0 with ME2, as stated in thread title.

I have gotten it running once or twice, but 99% of the time, when I attempt to start ME2, (regardless of whether it is through RadeonPro or directly running the binary/loader) it will pop up with a message box saying the game is already running, and not start. Once this happens, there seems to be no surefire method to get it running again, as it seems to say that no matter how many times I attempt to start it, or if I change settings in RP.

There is only ever one instance of the Masseffect2.exe (actually, renamed UT3.exe in the hopes that would enable AA) process listed in task manager, when this occurs.

I have tried rebooting, as advised in a bioware forum thread about this happening to someone playing Mass Effect 3, while NOT using RadeonPro, and that doesn't help.

I am using an exe loader called Mass Affinity, which helps with loading times, a bug in the game. My video card is a Radeon HD4870 1GB.

As an entirely separate issue, forcing AA does not work, even using the Mass Effect AA profile.

Thanks for any help!

Investigated further...

It seems getting rid of the Mass Affinity loader and not having an AA profile enabled, allows the game to start.

As soon as I set an AA profile, it says another instance is running..

Without the profile, I can't seem to enable AA, even with it forced on in the menu settings. Sad

Also, it seems my 4000 series card doesn't support supersampling. Bummer.

I'm livestreaming the game to a friend, so running at the min resolution of 800x600 to minimize transport bandwidth. At this low resolution, I figured I could at least maximize all graphics options. AA (particularly supersampling) would really help.
